Apparently, some people on Hacker News sincerely believe Google's trying to protect people from scams by hiding the URL in the latest Chrome.
And HN supposedly has a somewhat informed audience.
@MatejLach There are tons of Google employees (and employees of other major tech companies) who defend their interests on Hacker News, sometimes with questionable arguments. When you see posts like that, vote them down (if you can) and give strong rebuttals.
@rogue Good point! That's probably why.
It has been my experience that most of these people on HN have no idea what they're talking about, are typical tech fanboys, or are shilling for something because they can profit off of it.
They're only marginally better than Reddit.
