Saw this reaction to marketing running apps on :

"So it does everything that Linux does, but you can also send all your personal data automatically to google.

Wow, what a value proposition!"

😂

@MatejLach

Google: "Unlike other operating systems, ChromeOS is built on open standards: the world wide web."
Me: "But what about the standards Linux, BSD, etc are built on: POSIX, X11, and FreeDesktop.Org?"
Google: *crickets*
Google: You can now run "Linux" apps on it.
Me: Well, that's a start...

@alcinnz @MatejLach I was waiting for too much long for Google to release possibility to run #Android applications anywhere. You know, that dex code generally can be ran literally everywhere, not just on piece of phone.

Well, I've got fed up waiting 😞

@MatejLach so... now Google can monetize my shell history? Sounds super-duper!

Meanwhile, Ctrl-W will still close the terminal instead of erasing a word. Priorities, I guess...

Hi there! I am a free software developer. I enjoy working on useful software, as well as advocating for software freedom and the use of open standards, promoting data ownership, decentralization and privacy. If this is important to you, I may be worth following. If you like Go, Rust, or Swift, it may be worth following me as well. Besides computing, I enjoy metal, a good read and occasionally some gaming, (not much time for that these days).
